Three days left, with Friday open for an all-nighter and Saturday open in the morning for last-minute things. Kind of feeling the pressure now. I'm actually thinking of doing the props now so they can be painted and left to dry, so I won't have to worry about a not-dry prop on Saturday. But it's better to be propless rather than costumeless. >: So I'm not sure. Going to cover the damned lollipop in paperclay completely since it doesn't seem to want to smooth out, but at least it's all nice and hard now. No dents from transport or little shits taking it and running around with it.

The dress is done, but I forgot to account for zipper space again and it's a bit too tight. Nothing too uncomfortable, but still awkwardly tight when I try to get the zipper up. Oh well. I guess another redo is on the way after Megacon. ;_;

Cut the pieces out for inner jacket and tried to for shorts yesterday, but kind of messed up on the shorts and recutting today. I guess I'll fix up my dress and finish the seams that I left yesterday, and then work on the jacket and Jade's shirt. Hand-pressed bias tape, fuck no. >:| But I can't find the correct color I need at the store, so I guess I have to do this anyway. Oh well.

Jesus christ on a stick, I'm going to end up finishing this with fabritac or heat-n-bond if this keeps up. lol laziness

And I almost keep forgetting about the damned shoes. Gotta get the shaping done at least so I can paint Anise's and get Simon's sewn together nicely. Don't have time to seal it unless it dries fast, so I'll probably only seal Anise's shoes once or twice before going over it with paint and the black parts with shoe polish. I hope they come out well, I'll end up wearing my Haruhi shoes again if they don't. The shoes match well enough, but I'll be damned if my shoes make us lose the costume contest. --not that they would, since all of the other entrants will probably be crap. :| /lol ego

Someone posted some pictures of the OCCC, though. It looks really nice, and there seems to be some nice places for photoshoots too. M-must get pictures of epic Guy pose (if our Guy manages to pull it off properly), me harassing Luke, and sum Anise/Ion and Jade/Anise. ;_; And sexy time paradox too. MY OWN CLONE, NOW NONE OF US WILL BE VIRGINS

But yeah, it's going to be fucking fun and I am really excited. I just hope I can get most of my stuff done. The important things, at least.

Current progress: Anise - Base dress done, bottom needs shaping, needs bias taping and zipper. Waiting to get new cloak fabric. Lollipop papier mached and dried, putting on another coat and priming for painting. Still need sleeves, socks, shoes, and wig styling.
Simon - lolpants failed, redoing today after buying new fabric. Jacket still in pieces, waiting to be lined and needs zipper. Core drill unpainted and in two pieces, needs sanding and gluing. Need shoes, goggles.
Jade - Shirt done, needs collar and sleeves. Need cloak, pants, vest, and book for a prop.
Tokunaga - pieces being cut out and sewn together today, will be worked on by hand throughout the week and on car ride to Orlando (if unfinished by then).

Going to mix some more papier mache paste in a bit, I still have some left over from yesterday but it's probably gross and hard by now. FUCK I LOVE papier mache D: I feel like I'm 8 again when I'm doing it. fuckyeah

The wig's finally all straightened and sfsdfdsf, I need a new hairbrush though since someone broke the one I was using with the wig. :/ Going to get that today, and then brush the wig into pigtails and trim it to the right length. My wigs for Jade and Simon I'm going to have to style in the hotel once I get them from Jenna, but she's going to help me hack bangs into Simon and cut the one for Jade. D:

The lollipop's turning out really well, only 3 layers of papier mache and it's already hard as a rock. I smacked it against the counter edge and it didn't even dent. o: Putting on another three layers just as a precaution, and then I'm going to prime and paint it. I also have the little rings and endcap on it made out of paperclay, but I still need to sand them down to proper shape and attach them. I'm not sure what to get for a priming material though, I wanted to use gesso but I can't find smaller tubs of it. The ones at Michaels are all half-gallon and over $10, I don't need that much and I doubt I'll end up using all of it even with the props I'm making in the future. so... idk.

Core drill's kind of inaccurate, but I still like how it looks. I'm casting another one out of hotglue or something, so I guess I can deal with using this one for now until I get the time to make another one. o: Goggles, I'll be getting stuff for the lenses today and then I'll be able to put them together.

I've basically got the base items down for each costume. Still need to make lolcloaks, and a vest for Jade, but those'll be easy. Piecing together Simon's costume is pretty easy too. I still have to do shoes for both Simon and Anise, but I doubt they'll take too long. I'll just skimp on some of the steps for Anise's shoes. >: Yeah.

A-and I need PANTS. AND A BELT. Those're the only things I'm really worried about, since today's probably the last day I'll be able to get them. If I can't get a pair of white pants, then I'll have to ask everyone I know if I could borrow a pair from them. >: ugh, too much trouble. The belt I could probably make a makeshift thing instead, but.. people will notice. D: people like /cgl/ lol

Finished reading Kafka on the Shore. Decent book, but I'm not sure if I like it more than The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle or not. Another ambiguous ending, lots of symbolism and things you have to figure out by yourself. Murakami said that you had to read the book several times to get the actual meaning of it, but I'm not patient enough to do that, haha. >: I did read it pretty quickly though, faster than it took me to read The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle.

I'm still trying to find a copy of Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World, but no luck so far. Barnes and Noble says it's in stock at the store but it wasn't there any of the times I went to look for it. So I need another book to entertain me for now. I guess I'll go look into some more fiction books when I have some time. D: I was supposed to read The Joy Luck Club but I haven't started on it at all yet, only read the first story and then something out of the middle. I guess I'll read that for the moment being, until Ballad of a Shinigami and Kino no Tabi 2 comes out.

Another week until Megacon, dress pieces are pinned down and cloak is being painted, though I have to redo one of the pieces because paint spilled on it and.. yeah. ugh. It happened last time too. I'm just lucky that I still have enough fabric left to cut out another piece, I didn't think I would have enough but I guess I did. Still gotta buy a few things, so I'm banking on finding them at the mall over the weekend. Otherwise I'll just see if I can borrow them from someone else until I can buy my own. It'll be a lot of trouble either way. >: I've gotten pretty much everything else worked out, though, so I really have only those two things to worry about. Everything else I'm pretty sure I can get done if I work really hard over the weekend and during the week.

GSG, probably, since I still haven't finished it (lol). a-and I'm not sure what else. I can just play Etrian Odyssey if I really get bored.

Cloak pieces all cut out, stencils laid out for painting tomorrow. Added paperclay details to lollipop and sanded base for core drill, going to add details to that tomorrow. I was going to start on my dress, but I couldn't use the sewing machine tonight because my mom would bitch at me for it being too loud. fsfsdfdsf. tomorrow it is >: I should also start on the shoes, but I can't finish them until I get some good glue to glue them down to the base. And I wanted to replace the craft foam anyway. Oh well. I'm not sure if I'm making the dildoblade this time either, because I want to but I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it. I was going to make it out of paperclay but realized it would look odd, so I'm hoping to get some wood over the weekend and be able to hack it into shape. If I can't, then.. no one will notice. Speaking of animu, btw- watched Shigofumi episode 4. Chiaki was introduced, I wonder what they'll do with her for the rest of the series? Also, a bit more insight into Fumika, and a sweet-ish stand-alone episode. I agree with everyone else that the scene with the angel statue was really good, but the rest of the episode wasn't so great compared to the first two episodes. Still waiting for episode 5 subs, hopefully FTP will come out with them soon. The last episode release was 4 days ago, and it looks like they come out with new subs pretty quickly, so I'll just have to wait for updates from /a/ for now.

Torrenting the rest of Moyashimon for now, watching it on the bus tomorrow morning and afternoon. After that, I'll probably download Mononoke or Denno Coil, unless I can think of some other short series that I started but didn't end up finishing for some odd reason. >:

Working on finishing up the turtleneck at the moment but at a loss for what to do with the unfinished edges. I can't just leave them like this, but I tried making a rolled hem on one of the sleeves -- ended up stretching the knit out and now it looks retarded. Gotta figure out some way to fix this, I'll play around with the extra knit I have later to see what I can do. It's pretty much done except for that though, all of the seams are zig-zagged and trimmed.

Going to start working on the jacket soon. I have no buttons for it but I'll pick some up at JoAnn next week~ I guess I'll draft a muslin pattern for it first if I have any, otherwise I'll... idk. >: draft it on paper and then go from there, I guess. I was thinking of lining it anyway, so I'll have to keep the shapes anyway. And yeah. D:

Just rinsed my wig out, going to work on it again tomorrow when it's dry. Needed to get that got2b glue out so that I could brush it out and try to make it look nicer. I want to get it looking like this one Japanese Anise's wig, but it would have to be straighter and... I'll just try to make do with what I have. The pigtails are huge already but they're still.. not huge enough. It's frustrating. ;-;

Well, whatever, the wig's drying on a towel near the sink right now so I have no choice but to work on my costume (!!) so.. I guess I'll redo my sleeves and then try to make my dress with what I have left. I cut so much fabric out for the sleeves that I only have enough left for one shot at the dress, and I'm not even sure it'll be long enough to cover my ass without shooort points. Oh well, at least it's the weekend, I can get more fabric at JoAnn tomorrow. o:

I also need to make that skull charm and those two skull clips for the Devil costume, going to do that out of sculpey. I'm going to see about getting some paperclay to make it instead though, I've heard that it's lighter and less brittle. I don't need my clips or brooch weighing down my costume or falling out and breaking.

Andand now I *really* want to do young Jade, fuck. ;-; HE'S SO CUTE. I just.. need to beat Nebilim so I can get that cutscene AND THEN I CAN GET HIS MODEL IN MY CHARACTER BOOK. MAYBE. ;-; I.. I sux at vidya gaems though. I always train my characters to just minimum level and then whine about not being able to beat the hardest boss, ffff. I guess I have to do some grinding in TotA and Etrian Odyssey. I think everyone's at level 70 (or 71-72) at the moment, I'm going to try to get at least some of the coliseum weapons to make it easier for myself and then hope for the best? idk

The outside of my wig is pretty much straightened now, though not completely straightened cause I need a bit of bounce for the pigtails. I don't want to be LOL STRAIGHT HAIRED ANISE ;-; ...but anyway, the inside is still curly so I have to work on getting that straight somehow. And then combing it out and treating the whole thing with the spray before I put it up. Then I have to treat it *again* after I put it up and work on getting the poof in the pigtails, which shouldn't be hard with the got2b styling glue I got~ Then Aquanet to hold the bangs in place and hacking at the fringes to make them short, and I'm all good. o: Gotta figure out a way to get those skull clips on the hair though without them looking stupid. I'll figure something out. >:

So anyway, last night I was so bored that I decided to help Jenna fill up her fail folder. Went through the Tales of the Abyss costumes on coscom, ended up clicking on all but one or two of them to pull fail images from. Goddamn. It made my face hurt from grimacing and it made me sad that people do this to my fandom. ;-; WHY YOU DO THIS. I also looked at ToS cosplayers but after I pulled 4 terrible cosplayers from the front page, I had to stop because I was too afraid to go on. D: And.. and then we went on CosplayLab and the pictures oh god. THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS. :|

And now I will be filled with NERD RAAAAAAGE if anyone at the Tales group fails. Really. :/ I'm expecting it to be so much win it'll overwhelm me, especially after all of the fail on coscom and cosplaylab. Because it really shouldn't take this much effort to make a decent-looking TotA costume. I mean, I looked like win compared to most of the people on cosplay.com even with my FINISHED THE NIGHT BEFORE ANISE COSTUME THAT WAS RIPPING AT THE SEAMS, and... that's kind of sad. >: But yeah, we'll end up talking shit about them loudly and in their faces if anyone fails. Regarding the TotA group, Jenna.. might not be competing in the costume contest with us. She'll probably compete as Jade with us anyway because there was no competition at ALL at Chibi-Pa, and no one's going to stir dramashit up because BAAAWWW she won at a small con which was full of fail SO SHE CAN'T ENTER THE COSTUME AT A CON WHERE THERE ACTUALLY MIGHT BE COMPETITON. I hope she does, the group will feel so.. empty without a Jade standing on the stage with us. D: IT'LL JUST BE THE LESSER LIKED CHARACTERS. and Lukefaggot. But then again, it's Florida, the cospray dramu state. :| Oh well. I'll lol if anyone starts whining over it.

Speaking of dramu, I just found out that someone was whining about the Chibi-Pa cosplay contest results, wtf. It didn't blow up into a ton of drama but some butthurt faggot on coscom was going and saying something about "kids can't sew" and that most of the winners in the cosplay contest cheated with bought costumes, haha. It made me smile when I heard about it. Not to be egotistical but I bet they were thinking of me when they wrote that. lulz. When we went on stage, Andrew piped up and said something about eBay so everyone automatically assumed that I bought my costume from eBay too. :/ They were about to shush us off stage before I interjected at the last minute. gj judges, since my group member bought his costume off of eBay and he can't sew, I obviously can't sew either and bought mine as well. GOOD REASONING

I wish I could have found the thread that the person posted it in. D: Coscom's search kind of sucks though. I can't get it to search for "chibi-pa" and "cheating" at the same time, and some of the threads it pulled up don't even relate to what I'm looking for at all. pfft. I didn't expect to like it as much because of the talking staff, but it actually worked out pretty well, like in Kino no Tabi (book 2 coming out next month!!!). I just streamed the episodes on Crunchyroll, though, I guess I'll download the rest when they come out. o: New episode is coming out today~ It'll probably take a few days for it to get subbed though.

Also, downloading Spice and Wolf 2 and Persona -trinity soul- 2 now. Now that I've actually started to play the Persona game, I guess I'll watch the Persona anime over from the first episode since I'll probably be able to understand it a little better now. Spice and Wolf I just didn't bother to download since I had no space, but now that I've cleared Loveless off of my computer, I should have enough space left to download some more animu before I have to find more things to delete.

Uh.... Kindasorta redid the sleeves, just the cuffs though. I had them sewn onto the sleeves before, but I decided to use a pink thread to sew it on and finish the seam for some reason, instead of the light purple thread that I had which matched the fabric better. Yeah, idk either. So I ripped the cuffs off and reattached them with the matching thread, and I'm going to hem the top of the sleeves.. sometime. They somehow fit better on my arm now, wtf? I didn't do anything to the pink parts, but they're not as tight on my arm at the top anymore. Oh well.

Black knit's out of the wash now, so I guess I'm going to make the turtleneck tonight. It shouldn't be too hard, I should probably make it a bit smaller though since it stretches. o:

Eh, should be going to the mall tomorrow with Jasmine. I have no money. >: Unless I get that check cashed in which probably isn't happening very soon. o well

I can't seem to beat stage 4, augh. >: It's bad enough that the enemies during the stage are worse than the spell cards of the three bosses before that, but the boss is impossible to survive. fsdfsdfasdf

D: I also played through a few days on Persona 3. Gotta train myself back up to level 6, ugh. The enemies only give me like, 3 exp each and I need around 100 to level up and.. SHITSUX D: I also can't find a store that sells sp-restoring potions. I tried the pharmacy but that only sold hp-restoring potions, so..

On a better note, I bought an awesome black ribbed knit to make Anise's turtleneck with. I kind of wanted to use this awesome soft knit that I saw at the store too, but... yeah, I have no idea why I went for the black one instead. It's going to look kind of awesome though. o: And I can actually wear it irl, fuckyeah~ Couldn't find any pleather, though. Or a nice material to make her white suit out of. Oh well, I'll try going to the JoAnn near my own place soon. Maybe they'll have something that I overlooked before.

And I guess I'll finish my sleeves sometime soon since I just threw the stuff in the wash. eh D:

eh nvm time to play persona 3

So, I've been playing Persona 3 all morning. It's gotten much better since you can go around the town now and explore Tartarus. The battles are fun~ Establishing social links is headache-inducing though, especially for the Hermit arcana. >: I don't want to talk to people on MMOs that talk like that IRL, so why would I want to in an RPG? fsdifhdiu

But I managed to get myself killed when I had the team split up to explore Tartarus and I didn't save, so yeah.. Set back 4 hours or so. D: I got myself to the 5th floor again though, so all I have to do is train a little and get my personas back so I can fight the boss monsters on the 5th floor with no problem, and then get back the stuff I found on the 6th floor... And rejoin the clubs and reestablish links, etc.

Annnd I wrote that at around 2:40. It's almost 9:00 now. :D Well, I didn't really do much after that. I played some Trauma Center, got around 1/4 of my operations to S rank, and started working on my sleeves. It took me 2 hours to get them right because I didn't know if I wanted them to be baggy at the top or not. >: They look baggy on the anime scenes and figure, but they don't look very baggy on the game model. I guess I'll just go by the game model for consistency?

Well, considering that, I've got the tubes for my sleeves already done and I just need to trim them to size, add the cuffs, attach elastic, finish the inside, and hem the top. Easy.

I guess I can make my sock tubes tonight as well, though I'm still not sure how I'm going to get them onto the socks without them sliding all over the place and looking crappy. I could also sew them onto the socks, but.. then I'd have to go out and buy another pair of white thigh-highs for normal wear! D: And they're $5!

I'm currently playing Golden Sun 2 again, trying to get to where I was before. Surprisingly, I wasn't that far into the game. >: Sure seemed like I got pretty far. Oh well. Golden Sun is awesome either way BUT THE GAME NEEDS MOAR ALEX PLEASE. D: Seriously!!

Annnd I -will- continue playing TotA and Odin Sphere over break, as well as starting Star Ocean. Maybe some DDR too.

I... kind of bombed on the math test again? I was actually pretty confident about how I did too, haha. Oh well. With the homework check, my grade will go up to an 86.5 or so, and then I need to make a 100 on the quiz and do the extra credit to make an A. Shouldn't be too hard if I.. study? >: Not sure what my current grade is in History but I hope it's redeemable if it dropped to a B. I think those are the only two I need to bring up to make straight A's, and then I can go to Megacon, fuck yeah.

Speaking of Megacon, we... kind of lost our Nia and Arietta. D: Jenna needs to get on so I can tell her. Carly apparently can't go anymore because of no money, but she says there might still be a slight chance. We'll have to start looking for someone else to take her place, though. Especially for Arietta, since we only need her, Largo, and Frings to complete the group!! Largo is probably a lost cause but if we could find him THAT WOULD BE AWESOME. And.. and we need a Nia and a Yoko for our GL group. >: TOO MANY PENISES. WE'LL OVERWHELM THE CON WITH OUR MANLINESS.

Currently, I'm redoing the bias tape for Lelouch's jacket because the neck thing for the front flap ended up being too thick. I cut it to the right size and I'm going to redo the bias tape once I get another packet so I don't get REALLY REALLY ANGRY if I end up running out before I finish putting the tape on.

I need to get more white fabric for Bridget, and find a suitable replacement fabric for Anise. Simon's jacket is lying in pieces on a chair right now, and I'm redoing the collar and bias tape to make it look better. I might also fix up the applique on the back. I think I'll be getting the fabric to start on Eureka on Friday or Saturday or something like that.

As for the props, I need to make a bunch of things which I will tackle.. sometime this week. I got a sheet of foam to play around with for Bridget's yoyo and Eureka's necklace, and I'm going to get another two sheets to make the handcuff for Bridget. If I decide to make a staff for Anise to swap out with the lollipop at the con, I'll... figure out something to do for that. I also want to make a flying skyfish for Eureka, but I'm not sure if the con will allow flying toys and I'm not entirely sure how it'll fly in the first place. It's still a cool idea if I can pull it off, though. XD

And obviously, I still need to make the goggles and drill for Simon, as well as a replacement Tokunaga for Anise and a Boota for Simon.

Might as well post something seeing as how I haven't in a few days again. Working on costumes as always, took apart Simon to put back together soon (tomorrow, maybe?) and pinning together pieces for Lelouch. I've got the lining material I need for the jacket so all's left is to figure out how I want it to come together and then.. sew it. It shouldn't be too hard, even with the stupid butt flap that I have to incorporate now. Iiiif all goes well, I'll be able to put on the embroidery by the end of the week and finish the jacket, then I need to pick up more fabric if I want to remake the pants. o: And then I just need to get a wig for him (not sure if I'm still getting Jenna to buy one for me) and I'll be done. Unless I want to get new shoes and contacts for him as well. >:

Bridget is coming along... kind of. I'm making the plans for his costume and I'm going to put together the nuncap soon, sans the two large crosses and the detailing on the front, which I will do with craft foam. The dress, collar, cuffs, and gloves should all be easy enough, so the real trouble I'll have is getting the shoes and props together.

Still have yet to find a proper fabric replacement for Anise's dress, but I did get some more bias tape for the cloak and dress as well as more interfacing. Hoping that I'll have enough fabric for the white parts of the cloak now, and that I'll be able to find something good for the dress that doesn't look cheesy. Also need to make the shoes somehow, as well as figure out how to style my hair properly. And make a new Tokunaga pattern as well that doesn't make the head look LUMPY. D:

Should be ordering the wig for Yotsuba in a week or two. I know how I want to put it together, but it's going to involve lots of wefting and glue. Yikes. I'm hoping I don't fail as hard as the people who just spray paint their hair and put it in four floppy pigtails. I want them to stand up straight and look awesome.

Simon's wig and Bridget's wig should also be coming, I'm banking on a christmas sale for Cosworx (they should have one), and I'll get my dad to buy me the wigs for a present. IDK about Mercedes, especially since she's on the point of being dropped for Mega. And I need one for Fuura too. D: I need to see if there's a local wig store or something so that I can get the normal hair colors and just order the funky ones online.

Haven't been having luck finding fabric for anyone, though I'm hoping that I'll be able to get something for Fuura and Anise soon. I've got the fabric for Bridget all lined up and I can pick up some more at Joann if I need some.

On the topic of cospray, I'm going to be putting together at least 6 costumes for Megacon, as well as working on a few on the side. I'm not sure if I should kick some people out of my lineup, I've already half-decided on ditching Yomiko at the moment. Bridget's been picked up again, though I did think of dropping him for a little while to lessen the expenses for wigs. I've picked up Yotsuba because the only thing I'll need to do work on is the wig, unless I absolutely can't find the shirt in which case I'll have to make it. The only confirmed people so far are Simon, Anise, and Lelouch, though I really want to do Mercedes too. Yotsuba, Bridget, and Yomiko are on the back-burner though it's likely that I'll do Yotsuba and Bridget, unless I totally run out of time to sew.

So right now I'm working on Lelouch, and I'll be getting some lining stuff for his jacket over the weekend (hopefully) as well as new fabric for Simon and Anise. I'll also try to get some paintstuff so I can redo Anise's cloak. drr
