Jasmine and I got there pretty early. Not that early, though! It was around 9 or so when I got to the con. Barely anyone was there, so we didn't have any trouble getting in. Since there was nothing to do and no one there, I just dropped my stuff off in the artist's alley and went to go explore with Jasmine. We went upstairs, and guess who we found...? :D

Light, Near, and Matt! We went to go join them cause there was nothing else to do~ We were just talking about Red Bull and stuff, basically, and then.. and then... LIGHT DID HIS SWIMMING LESSONS. SO AMAZING.

I think we went downstairs somewhere around here to go sign up for Cosplay Idol. XD Light wanted to do Everytime We Touch but it was Japanese songs only, aww. Renge was running the contest! I hugged her! And and we saw a random Orgy 13 member who I hugged. :D So fun. Not as good as the spinny hug Axel gave me though.

We went back upstairs momentarily and rounded a random bystander (Rosa) into the conversation, and Kathleen also got here around then. After thaaaattttt Jade joined the party! He was msising his coat. Bathrobe!Jade is very yes, though. And he was carrying a broom too, since he broke his spear. /o/ Before that though, I think we were filmed by someone doing the official filming for Chibi-Pa. Sweet.

Um, um um. Cosplay Idol started so Jade, Jasmine, Jefferson, Rosa, and Kathleen (broke the chain of J's, boo) and I went to the main event room. Jefferson had to find me in the middle of the contest because Jasmine and I wandered out to look at the Dealer's room for a sec. I did Hare Hare Yukai, did the little twirl at the end. :D; I didn't think it was that good, but apparently it was. Well, I wandered out of the contest again after I sang and told Jefferson to find me when Kathleen was going up. I ran into Jade again when I was outside, and she (don't mind me if I keep on switching gender pronouns, augh) said something about being cold so I told her to go up to her room to get her coat. :P I ended up going with her. The hotel elevator had so many buttons~ I wanted to push them all, but self-restraint. XD We finally got up to her room around 10 minutes later and poked around, but she couldn't find it so apparently her family took it to the beach with them. O wells.

So we were pretty much just looking for a pair of pants for her instead. We loitered around in the lobby and then I was going around asking other people for pants.... yea. Apparently no one had an extra pair. Weird. And I offered to buy her a pair if there were any in the dealer's room, but there weren't any. :( Sad~

We ran into Rosa when we went back upstairs to sit and read doujinshi. Jade had this AMAZING one with shoesex. :( Oh god. And magic pants. So awesome. Everyone came up to find us after the contest was over and apparently I had won a prize. I got the "Entertainer's Award" for cosplaying and doing the dance. XD I didn't get my prize since I wasn't in the room though. Aww~

Um, um, since Kathleen was bugging me, we went downstairs to set up the artist's alley table. And then Jade and Kathleen and I went to the Burger King to get some food since we were hungry. And I discovered that Jade was a huge Gurrenfag! Great success! Apparently they were having this huge TTGL discussion that I MISSED because it was after I left. :( Damn. Well, I found out that she was making a Viral cosplay and omg~ We just talked... and ate chicken... and yeah. :D yea...

Jade drew me Jade. /o/ And she gave me her IM~ She had to leave around noon though. >: Hugs were exchanged. We just basically sat around at the table for some time after that, but I purchased this really awesome Revotech Saber figure with the help of Jasmine's money! She's fully poseable and o-omg~ So awesome~ I loves her. And Jasmine too.

Jasmine had to go after a while too. Kathleen, Rosa, and I just wandered around for a little bit and loitered at the other artists' alley tables~ We did Hare Hare Yukai and the Lucky Star dance at one of them. People joined in! I traded a few of my bookmarks for a Matt chibi, and I went around throwing extras at people because I didn't feel like carrying all of my unsold stuff home. I was planning to stay for the closing ceremony but pretty much everyone was gone by then anyway, so I didn't bother. /o/; Light was chasing L around, though, and there was a huge yaoifest going on just before I left.

It was pretty depressing when I got home, but I got over it pretty quickly and went to Wal-mart to buy fabric for my new cosplays. XD Can't wait until Megacon! It's going to be so amazing.

Back from Chibi-pa. It was amazing. Con report tiem.

Let's see. Well, I got up extremely early in the morning and just camped out until Office Depot opened, and I got my prints done. I picked up some posterboard and then we went straight to the con.

I met Andrew there at around 10 because the people at Office Depot took extra long in getting my prints done. We rushed through the prereg line and got in there just in time for the dealer's room to open. Of course, I was poking around until I happened upon one of those huge Kyouya plushies, and then I went rabid trying to get it down. :D It was only $20! Ahaha! After making my purchase, the sugar patrol came over and took a picture of us... and then gave us chocolate. Eee! I also saw a Haruhi (Ouran) and I hugged her and we reconciled. We were comparing plushies. :(

Kathleen came in around here so we went outside to figure out how to get our artist's alley stall. Andrew and I went in line to sign up for the cosplay contest, and GUESS WHO I SAW. HUGHES AND JADE CURTISS YESSSSS. Jade also had a Tear and Luke, but they were nowhere to be found. She later told me that I was one of the only people to recognize her. :( Sad. Well, we signed up and then went to set up the stall. One of us was manning the stall while the other ones were running around meeting everyone. I saw and hugged so many awesome cosplayers. /o/ I saw this really tall Axel in the dealer's room and I just had to hug him, and he picked me up and spun me around. It was so fun!

There was also a Sora outside. :D Also also also I saw a Meroko when I was walking out the dealer's room and I took a picture of her for Shad. There was a Nekozawa guarding the Dealer's Room entrance and I got a picture of him as well as a hug. And and and and Ritsuka~ He was missing his Soubi when I first saw him but I got a picture of him and Soubi together later. I also saw a Mamimi, Ash, and some Naruto person that I don't know when I was charging up and down the stairs.

I went back to the table for a little while and saw a Yuki Nagato, and I was practically screaming at her until she turned around. XD I got a picture of her~ I got a picture of Haruka and Mamimi together, though there was no Takkun. Also took a picture of a cute L and Misa (traded bookmarks for one of their keychains today) in the artist's alley. AND BEFORE I FORGET AGAIN JADE'S NAME IS JENNA. ok anyway. Kathleen and I had to crawl under the table to get out because we were blocked on all sides. It was pretty fun, actually, but now I have red spots on my knees.

We didn't end up selling much. I think I only sold one set of Axel/Roxas, and then Kathleen sold two pairs of earrings. We learned that we needed more stuff and a fancier setup to attract attention.

Um. Well, there was some screaming going on in the lobby so Kathleen and I went to check out what was going on. Cid Highwind was holding some sort of inpromptu event and there was a huge circle of people. They first had this dance contest sort of thing, and oh my god there was this amazing breakdancer there. Seriously. He and Cid had a dancing contest, and in between they were asking for people to come out and dance. So I just jumped into the middle of the circle to do Hare Hare Yukai, and two Narutos followed me. XD It was amazing~ After that, L stumbled into the circle of people and held up a free hugs sign. I was the first one to tackle him, and everyone else followed. After that, I think Cid was coazing Sephiroth and Shinra to dance and we were supposed to maul them or something if they wouldn't comply. They eventually did!

And he tried to make Kakashi strip. It didn't work out that well. Um. And the best part was probably the part where Cid bootydanced with Cloud as Cloud gave Sephiroth a lapdance while everyone sang the Barney song. They also dragged all the Pokemon cosplayers over and made them sing the first season theme, and auctioned the Itachis that were at the con. He was first taking yen bills and I got one from Andrew, and Cid took it and never gave it back. XD Andrew was totally fine with me wasting his monies, though, so that's good.

Then they had a limbo contest. Captain Kuro and Axel were amazing, considering that they were so tall. Me and Tobi got to the last round but the game pretty much died around then, and the circle broke up. We had to go to the costume contest anyway, so we pretty much just lined up for around half an hour until we finally got called into the event room. /o/ There was lots of screaming and I took photos of almost everyone who went up. There were a bunch of amazing cosplays, and I'm surprised some of them didn't win.

Well, Andrew and I won a Judge's Choice award!! omg! I was so happy, considering it was my first con/cosplay. XD We didn't get any prizes since there was a lackage of them compared to the people that were there, but bragging rights are still so awesome. I met Luniara after I got out of the cosplay contest, I think. I talked (spazzed) to her for a little bit before I went back to my own table, and then I went and bought a print from her. She even signed it~ (I wonder if she's going to Megacon this year)

Andrew and I were pretty hungry by then and Kathleen had already eaten, so we were going outside to find a place to eat. Well, Naruto and L and some other people were outside and preparing to walk to Burger King, and they asked if we wanted to come with them! Of course, we said yes. We walked over to the Burger King that was really close by. There weren't many cosplayers there when we got there, I think only two of them were sitting in the back. We ate and as we were finishing, all of them flooded in at once. It was such an amazing sight. ;_; Naruto and I did Hare Hare Yukai in the place before we went back to the con.

And then we went to the dealer's room since we didn't feel like sitting down! I found this totally awesome Kyouya doujin for only $10, but it was all in moonspeak so I couldn't read it. :( Andrew had to leave a bit after, so we went to Cosplay Improv by ourselves. There were a bunch of hilarious skits~ I wish we would have more preparation time, but I guess the one I did with the "anime fan" guy wasn't that bad.

After that, I think we set up the table for a little bit and then went to change for the Sadie Hawkins dance. It was amazing~ Some guy dressed up as Ultimate Muscle, and there was a guy in a banana suit. That's right. I was trying to get him to do the Peanut Butter Jelly Time dance.

They played a bunch of really loud songs that I didn't know~. I requested Hare Hare Yukai, and they played it before I had to leave. I danced with Captain Kuro, too! /o/ They were playing God Knows when I was leaving, bah. Well, it was pretty fun, though lacking in people -- we formed a conga line, though! I almost got thrown off BUT IT WAS FUN.

So the current cosplay list for Megacon 2008 is as follows:

Anise Tatlin (Tales of the Abyss) - I think this cosplay will actually be pretty easy save for the evil designs on the front and back of the cloak. There's nothing special I have to make expect for her dildoblade dagger... which will kill me. I have no idea how I'm going to approach it at all, the only ideas I've had are PVC pipe and possibly clay.

Simon (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann) - Oh gods, this is both the most simple and the most costly cosplay that I'm making. The wig I'm getting (http://www.cosworx.com/product.php?productid=26258&cat=2446&page=2) will have to be styled, and I'm not sure if I want to buy it in Midnight Blue (blue and black fibers) or a white yet, and then just sharpie dye it to the proper blue. I could probably also cut my hair but I don't really feel like ending up with really short hair for half a year.

Also, I need sports tape for boob binding. :< I wish Simon wore his shirt closed. I really do. Other than that though, his outfit is going to be REALLY REALLY EASY TO MAKE --- except maybe the shoes. I'll need to make a boot cover for that.

I'm not sure what material I want to use for the jacket yet. I was thinking of fleece today at school but I just got back and took another look, and it looks like cotton would work better. I'm probably going to use some muslin for the pants, and I'll go Goodwill-hunting for the belt. Currently debating on whether or not I should make a Boota.

Also, the goggles will be the death of me. Really!


Both of these cosplays will have pockets!!! I'm so happy!!!

And depending on if I have enough time:

Flonne (Disgaea) - Flonne is absolutely adorable and I already have the ribbons and fabric bought for it, so I probably will do this cosplay as well if I have the time. I just won't have a wig for her since I'm getting my dad to buy me a wig for Simon for Christmas. XD I'm just afraid that I'll run out of time if I linger on the details in Anise's outfit, so that's why I'm saving Flonne for last. Flonne will be the only cosplay that I'm not going to be in a group for, though, which is also another reason. Groups come first, personal cosplays second~

Shit- now I want to start drafting a pattern for Suiseiseki. It would probably be best if I saved her for when I'm more experienced at cosplaying. /o/
